Hello Everyone

Hello to everyone who is following this blog. I am doing this for all who have helped me get to this point in my life. If you are interested you can follow me on my journey to becoming a doctor, and It will be very useful when I get to Dominica since keeping in touch may be difficult.

Here I will post pictures and some info on my daily activities and such.

November 5-9

Most of the week I spent getting to know the area around where I live. Found a park to play basketball and places to walk Cheik**.

Working on getting my student loans. Clearing up the collections and such so that I can make sure to start this program this time around. I really want to be able to start med school in Dominica in May.

Friday I went to eat Sushi with my friend Gabrielle who lives here. She is woking hard trying to do law school and work.

Saturday: Did laundry cleaned up some and I went to the movies and saw Soul Men with my friend Enroy. It was pretty funny but sad to see Bernie Mac after he has passed away.

Sunday I went to Miramar to play basketball. I will be joining the Miami Basketball League. I am really out of shape and need to work on that.

** January 30, 2009 around 6 pm my dear little Cheik passed away. RIP

November Fourth 2008, The Day God Saved America

Today was a wonderful day. The very first African American person was elected as President of the United States of America. In the same country where not too many years ago a black person had about as much rights as an animal on a farm. Maybe there is some hope for the future.

I am very proud and happy that this has happened. I did vote and I am glad that I had a part in this great event.

The "mavericks" had no chance. I guess America was too desperate and not ready for another four years of BUSH!

November 1-3

Saturday: Mommy did a lot of unpacking and organizing of my new place. Thanks Mommy. We all went to breakfast at IHOP (yum). We did some shopping at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Melissa went to visit her friend who goes to school at FIU while we shopped.

Sunday: Returned things to Wal-Mart. Got a new Bball from Sports authority and then more unpacking. That night Melissa, Sean, and, I took an adventure on the MetroRail and then walked through downtown to Biscayne Bay, and the Bayside Market. On the way there we spotted the filiming of some type of Brazilian music video. Pretty neat huh.

Monday: Everyone had to head back to St. Pete early. I had to say goodbye and time to spend my first day in my new place alone. I didn't do much that day. I went to the bank and that was about it.

Big Move

Today I moved to Miami. Mommy, Melissa, Kendra, and Sean so kindly helped me bring my stuff down to Miami. Melissa used her wonderful driving skills to bring my car down. I drove the Uhaul truck.

I had scheduled the move in time for the elevator to be from 8 am to 12 pm with the condo association. Unfortunately we didn't get here until about 12. So we had a problem. There was another family scheduled to use it from 1 to 4pm.

We ended up helping them move in all of there stuff so they could free up the elevator for us faster. Then we got all my stuff in in under an hour.

The rest of that night we rested in my new place.
